Since 1901, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael-Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) has played a central role in building, protecting, and sustaining the State of Israel while strengthening Jewish life around the world.
What began as a bold effort to secure land for a Jewish homeland has grown into Israel’s oldest and largest sustainable development organization. For more than a century, KKL-JNF has shaped the country’s landscape and daily life — planting and maintaining forests, developing land for agriculture and housing, building reservoirs and water systems, protecting open spaces, combating wildfires, and advancing environmental research and innovation.
In times of crisis and war, our work becomes even more critical. KKL-JNF reinforces frontline communities, restores damaged land and infrastructure, provides emergency support, and helps families rebuild so regions can recover stronger than before.
Today, KKL-JNF safeguards Israel’s natural resources and invests in the long-term resilience of communities – especially in the Negev and Galilee – ensuring a strong, secure future for generations to come.
As a driving force in Israel’s story, we turn connection into action – building a greener, safer, and more secure Israel today and for generations to come.

Your donation supports KKL-JNF’s essential work across Israel—protecting the land, strengthening communities, advancing environmental solutions, and responding to national and environmental challenges. All donations are managed professionally and allocated according to long-term plans and national priorities to ensure lasting impact.
Israel faces unique environmental challenges. Large desert areas, a growing population, limited natural resources, and climate change make tree planting critical. Trees help prevent desertification, protect soil and water, and preserve open spaces. Forests also cool environments, reduce pollution, support biodiversity, and provide green spaces for recreation, education, and community well-being—today and for future generations.
Tree planting or donating through KKL-JNF is a meaningful way to honor loved ones or commemorate life events. After making your donation, choose “Create a personalized certificate” to select a design, write a message, and send it as a gift. If you choose not to dedicate your donation, you will still receive a certificate as a thank-you from us.
Yes. You can choose a cause or initiative—such as forestry, education, or community development—using the “More ways to give” section at the bottom of the donation page. Currently, donations support the broader initiative rather than a specific project, allowing KKL-JNF’s divisions to allocate funds where they are needed most.
Yes. During times of national or environmental crisis, KKL-JNF may launch dedicated campaigns and provide updates, allowing donors to support urgent needs and follow the impact of their contribution.
Tree planting locations are determined by KKL-JNF’s Forestry Division. Our experts plan forests based on long-term strategies, national needs, and local environmental conditions. With decades of knowledge of Israel’s land and climate, we ensure every tree is planted where it can thrive and contribute most effectively to the land.
We plant a variety of native and climate-appropriate species, such as pine, oak, eucalyptus, and broadleaf trees, to support forest health and sustainability. Every sapling is grown in one of KKL-JNF’s three nurseries: Golani (Galilee), Gilat (Negev), and Eshtaol (Jerusalem Hills), cultivated to match the soil and climate of each region.
Rehabilitating forests after wildfires is a multi-stage environmental process designed to restore ecosystems and public access. We assess damage and remove hazards, allow natural regeneration where possible, supplement recovery with strategic planting when needed, stabilize soil, install firebreaks, protect biodiversity, and repair trails and infrastructure. All decisions are guided by long-term ecological goals and forest management plans.
Donating is also a way to stay connected to Israel and its people, even from afar. Your contribution strengthens communities, protects the environment, and allows you to take part in building a greener, more sustainable future.
