משחקת תפקיד מרכזי בבנייתה, בשגשוגה ובחיזוקה של מדינת ישראל, יחד עם העצמת הקשר בין יהודי התפוצות לישראל.

מה שהתחיל כמאמץ אשר נראה בלתי אפשרי בזמנו לרכישת קרקעות ונטיעת יערות הפך לארגון הציוני הוותיק והגדול ביותר בישראל. למעלה מ-120 שנה קק״ל מעצבת את נוף המולדת ותורמת לאיכות החיים: נוטעת ומשמרת יערות, מכשירה קרקעות להתיישבות ולחקלאות, בונה מאגרי מים, יוצרת פעילויות חינוך, לוחמת בשריפות ושינוי האקלים, מקדמת מחקר פורץ דרך, מכשירה שבילי אופניים, מקימה פארקים עירוניים וגינות ציבוריות ועד פרויקטים רבים ומגוונים.

בזמנים קשים ומלחמה, קק”ל עומדת לצידה של ישראל ומתגייסת מיד לטובת המועצות, היישובים והתושבים הזקוקים לסיוע ותמיכה; הצבת מיגוניות, שיקום שדות חקלאיים ותשתיות, כיבוי שריפות יער, מפעילה תוכניות חינוך ופעילויות לילדים ונוער מקווי עימות, מקימה אתרי זיכרון והנצחה ועוד לפי הצרכים של השטח.

כיום, קק”ל ממשיכה לפעול למען ישראל – עם והאדמה – על מנת להבטיח המשך שגשוג ועתיד טוב לדורות הבאים.
