Ben Shemen Forest

Some places make time slow down. Ben Shemen Forest is one of them –a mature, striking forest spanning tens of thousands of acres in the heart of the country, near Ben Gurion Airport, between Modi’in, Lod, and Shoham. Tall pine groves blend with natural Mediterranean woodland, and winding trails invite you to walk through green hills without any need to rush.

This forest is one of KKL-JNF’s earliest and most iconic afforestation projects, first planted here in the early 20th century – and today, more than a hundred years and many wildfires later, it’s still alive, still growing, still renewing itself. This is your chance to be part of that ongoing renewal: here, at the planting center in the heart of the forest, you can help restore and strengthen long-established groves, giving this forest an even greener future.

Your moment is waiting: hands in the soil, the scent of pine in the air, and a young, tender sapling waiting just for you. This is more than a planting – it’s a chance to become part of a magnificent forest that’s been telling its story for over a century.
